DIVORCE COACHING

Divorce Coaching is defined as, “a flexible, goal-oriented process designed to support, motivate, and guide people going through divorce to help them make the best possible decisions for their future, based on their particular interests, needs, and concerns.”

Divorce can be overwhelming for anyone and nobody should have to go through it alone. We offer the opportunity to work together and support you in navigating through the process. We help to put you on the path to your ideal future.

We begin the coaching relationship by discussing the goals and aspirations that are most important to you. At first, your emotional survival may be all you can aim for – but as time goes on, your new sense of confidence and empowerment will enhance your hopes for the future.

Working things through with a divorce coach helps you to become aware of your resistance; you begin to embrace your circumstances so that you can move through them and be open to the possibilities that lie on the other side. As the client, you are in charge of deciding the focus of the session. Sessions may be conducted face to face or if that’s not possible via telephone or Skype With divorce coaching, you will feel more confident and empowered – enabling you to handle both the issues at hand and your overall circumstances with a renewed inner strength.

DO I NEED A DIVORCE COACH

A divorce-assist divorce coach will listen without judgment, without saying whatever they think clients want to hear. Their only goal is to support clients by understanding, and in turn, helping them understand, what they need and want from the divorce proceedings, and why they need/want it. They will be able to help clients find alternative options that may be a better fit for what they need versus their initial, emotional, knee-jerk reaction. A divorce-assist divorce coach will help clients avoid the pitfalls of the divorce process, and help them make the best possible decisions for their future and the future of their children.

Divorce is 80% emotional. While you might think that you will be capable of dealing with this emotional rollercoaster, don’t forget that you are now battling against someone who knows exactly how to push all your buttons.

Regardless of whether you instigated the separation or if you are on the receiving end of it, your mind and body are now officially tipped into Fight/Flight/Freeze, i.e. the Stress mode. Staying calm and thinking rationally will be a challenge.   The consequences of this level of intensity of stress will touch every aspect of your life: your sleep patterns, your physical and mental health, your eating/drinking habits, your confidence, your ability to think rationally and to make the right decisions.

Working with a Divorce Coach will allow you to heal faster, to feel supported all along the process and will give you:   a roadmap shortcuts to avoid pitfalls/hurt and to heal faster strategies and techniques to help you stay sane, gain the clarity to make the right decisions and rebuild yourself as a single person. Bringing in a divorce coach from the very beginning, before even reaching the separation stage, can help clients work through the logistics and business of divorce, making it less overwhelming, less terrifying, and allowing them to put more energy and thought into how they and their spouse are going to reduce the negative impact on their family as much as possible.
